Dear Folks,

Breaking ice on water troughs…

Happy sheep faces when a fresh bale of hay appears (no kidding!)…

Shivering children when Mom drags them to market…

…these are all part of the recent cold snap that arrived in central Arkansas this week.

One of the most encouraging parts of this past week came in the form of an email that I would like to share:

Good morning, Ed. Loved the story you emailed of the family and the family pack. I was just thinking Sunday night that your pork chops have become our new "fast food". I mean that as a compliment of course. We work, we're building a house, we have land and a garden to tend, and we both have multiple volunteer commitments, which when combined, keep us on the go all the time. Some nights we're just too tired to cook a meal - in the past, that meant calling out for pizza or making a run through the drive thru a couple nights a week. But now, it means eating Petit Jean Farm pork chops on the George Forman grill with some of my homemade canned goods or leftovers as side items! Quicker, better and much tastier! We couldn't be happier or healthier. Thank you!

This week we would like to purchase the Special $50 Family Pack and a half gallon of Pet Milk (if you have it).

Is there anyway I could trade out 2 lbs of hamburger for 2 lbs of stew beef? If not, no problem. I'll just order the stew beef in the future.

Thanks and see you on Friday,
Michelle Sestili

Probably the most persuasive argument circulating in our society today is that "Real" food is more expensive than "Fast" food.  A few people are beginning to figure out that long term costs related to fast food make it horribly more expensive than real food.

Shortly after the movie Food Inc. came out, Petit Jean Farm took the challenge to create a real food special package that would have an out-of-pocket cost as cheap as fast food.  The $50 Family Pack has been wildly popular…thanks to each of you who have already bought one and to each one who will.

$50 for 50 meals/servings is competitive with all the food out there that's not really food.  We are pretty sure we are the first farm to be able to provide real meat for these prices.  The reason is because over the years we have been fortunate enough to develop commercial accounts that help carry this along.

There are still supplies available for the 50/50 special so get your order in
