Petit Jean Farm
Weekly Farm Newsletter
January 4, 2010
Dear Folks,

A NEW YEAR! …..  is just what we need.

On the farm that is not just an annual greeting, and not all of us get to have another year to operate.  Just yesterday a young man stocking shelves at the local chain discount store called out a hello to me.  Last year and for several years he has been one of the neighboring dairy farmers.  "The cows were liquidated," he reported, "so here I am, what can I say?"

At Petit Jean Farm, it looks like we will get another year to operate in 2010.  We can never be sure when weather, economics, crop losses, health, or general bad fortune will make our last year.

One Thing is Sure!

We know we could not farm without family, neighbors, friends, and CUSTOMERS.

Direct markets have kept us in business and each of you are an essential part of the direct market…a partnership even.

Together we plan to make 2010 the best year ever with several new products on the horizon.  We will do our best to bring you the best value and service from our neighborhood, and know you will continue to make our trips to town prosperous and fun.  After nearly a 2 week break, I miss our market parties.  If the snow is not too deep, I'll see you again this weekend.

A special Thank You to each one who has purchased a $50 Membership Card to Petit Jean Farm.

We also have larger membership packages that are particularly valuable at the beginning of a new year.

A "normal" variety package of meat contains an assortment of beef, pork and/or lamb (tailored to your preferences) and sells for $55.00.

If you preorder these variety packages they can be purchased for $40 each and are delivered to you at your convenience throughout the year.

Three subscription options are:
$2,080 for 52 variety packs
$1,040 for 26 variety packs
$520 for 13 variety packs

We realize that very few people are able to subscribe at these levels, but those of you who have done so are critical to our operation.

Thank You All!
