Dear Folks,

Nothing says spring and new life like leaping lambs!  Lambing season is in full swing here at Petit Jean Farm.  We now have lots of little lambs scampering around in the field.  If you need inspiration, just think about these little guys.  They really do hit the ground running.  Almost instantly after being born the lambs are on their feet looking for a meal.  Not long after that they have worked out their wobbles and can trot along after their mothers.  Two days later, they are uncatchable!  A two day old lamb can outrun and outmaneuver most people.  They run and bounce and twist all over the pastures.  Let’s hear it for the lambs!

Let’s hear it, too, for all of our wonderful customer volunteers!  Everywhere we are involved in a market, we see hardworking volunteers making it happen.  We also see new volunteers joining the force every week.  You get ‘er done on delivery days, make the online markets run smoothly, and coordinate all the other behind the scenes activities.  ASN, Conway Locally Grown, Spa City Co-op, and the three-way market at Carmona Center wouldn’t be possible without such a dedicated volunteer effort.  Thank you many times over.

One of the things volunteers are making happen is an Open House on April 24.  Come check out this “Taste of the Market” at the Carmona Center in Hot Springs Village.

We are also happy to announce that beef and pork are again ready to butcher.  Wondering what to do with an income tax refund?  Place a half or whole order of beef!  Actually, the best long term investment is a full farm subscription of 52 variety packs for $2080.  Let us know if you want more details.  For individual orders, we also have economy packs available.  These are bulk packages of ground beef and/or pork sausage for $55.00.  There are plenty of options.  We want to make sure healthy, delicious meat is available to everyone.
